Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated an investigation into allegations against Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Nandi and his officials regarding irregularities in transfer and posting processes. The allegations were made by Amitabh Thakur, National President of the Azad Adhikar Sena.
In a letter dated March 10, 2025, Jaiveer Singh, Joint Secretary of the Industrial Development Section 4, has directed Thakur to submit an affidavit along with relevant evidence and documents to substantiate his complaint, as per the provisions of government orders.
In his complaint, Amitabh Thakur alleged that Minister Nand Gopal Nandi, in response to a question posed by MLC Devendra Pratap Singh in the Legislative Council, revealed that out of 12 senior-level transfers made in 2023-24, five officials—C.K. Maurya, Vinod Kumar, Ajay Deep Singh, Pradeep Kumar Satyarthi, and Sharmila Patel—had pending vigilance inquiries and other serious allegations against them.

Thakur further claimed that in violation of government directives, four officials—Ajay Kumar Yadav, Mansoor Katihar, Sharmila Patel, and Ashish Nath—were promoted to higher posts despite their lack of seniority. He argued that such senior-level appointments cannot be made without the minister’s approval, thereby demanding a high-level investigation into the matter.
Amitabh Thakur has stated that he will soon submit his affidavit and supporting evidence to the government to further the inquiry.
